OPEN LETTER TO HIGHWAY AUTHORITY MALAYSIA
An open letter by residents to the Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM / Highway Authority Malaysia) received the reply that private projects such as the PJD Link will be approved via Kerjasama Awam Swasta (UKAS), Prime Ministers Department and Kementerian Kerja Raya. LLM is an agency that will only give input on technical aspects for the highway proposal.

2 PHYSICAL PROTESTS IN PETALING JAYA
Protests by residents of Petaling Jaya took place on 2 July (Section 14) and 23 July (Bandar Utama) organised by SCRAP HIGHWAY Team and saynotopjdlink.org team. MP Maria Chin Abdullah, MP Sivarasa Rasiah, Selayang MP William Leong, Sungai Pelek assemblyman Ronnie Liu, Damansara MCA chairman Tan Gim Tuan and Taman Medan assemblyman Syamsul Firdaus Mohamed Supri were in attendance during the protest.

MEETING WITH FEDERAL WORKS MINISTER IN PARLIAMENT
Lead by the chairman of Stakeholders cum Residents Against PJD Link Highway (SCRAP Highway) Mr David Yoong and representatives of Say No To PJD Link Highway and Petaling Jaya Residents Associations were granted an audience by the Federal Works Minister, YB Dato’ Sri Hj Fadillah Hj Yusof at the Parliament building on 2 August, 2022. The minister was asked to explain how the PJD Link was approved in principle when another similarly controversial project (KIDEX Highway) was scrapped in 2015 due to public protest. The group also lamented the lack of information on the PJD Link despite repeated requests by residents to elected representatives and state agencies. They have filed a request under the state’s Freedom of Information Enactment (FOI) to gain more information on the expressway.

NOMINATED FOR SUARAM HUMAN RIGHTS AWARD 2022
The efforts by all residents, business owners, elected representatives and other protesting stakeholders was nominated for the final rounds of the SUARAM Award 2022. Representatives from SNTPJDLINK were invited to the SUARAM Award event.
